Emily is officially not the wimpiest kid on the block. She handled her first set of allergy shots like a pro, though the nurse, Kim, said she could tell Emily was super super nervous. Maybe the bugged eyes, shallow breathing, and refusal to get very close to the counter tipped her off, I don't know. But it was quick, mostly painless, and best of all, Emily is willing to do it again! Which is great because she needs to go twice a week for 3 months, then once a month for, oh, 3 or 4 years. Hooray for Em! (Here she shows her prizes, purple hearts for bravery.)
The Texas weiner dog is keeping watch over Emily's injection, making sure there are no bad reactions.
Whew! I may live another day!

Great pictures for her scrap book of a very important first in her life. Good job, Emily. You are an example to us all. We're just thankful we don't have to do the same.
Good job! Usually it's just the thought that ends up being the worst... ;)
em, you are way brave i don't think i could handle having that many shots! even tho i claim to love giving blood, i still get fairly nervous at the sight of that needle. you're the meaning in my life, you're the inspiration...
