You have these ingredients already--give it a try!
Creamy Choco-Peanana Butter Spread
If you buy bananas, you probably have one or two that didn't get eaten in time. Perfect! Now you have something to do with it (besides spending an hour baking banana bread) that will make breakfast time--or anytime--fun and still nutritious.
Got a small food processor? Then you're all set.
Pile in the following, in this order, and blend until smooth:
1 very ripe banana
4 Tbsp. honey
1/2 tsp. almond or vanilla extract
2/3 cup peanut butter
3-4 Tbsp. Cocoa powder
And if you're really feeling it, you may also want to add:
2 oz cream cheese + 1 more Tbsp. honey
1 Tbsp grated orange peel
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 cup finely chopped pecans (stirred in at the end)
This bit of deliciocity goes well on pancakes, bagels, toast, sandwiches, crackers, or just about anything you can get a hold of to dip with. Heck, just get a spoon and eat it straight from the processor. (A word of advice: Do not try and lick the blade, as much as you might want to.) Enjoy without guilt, as there's no added sugar.
