Thanks to our friend Shelly for taking us on a great adventure this week: We went blueberry picking! My kids had never gotten to do this before, and since Wennermarks are moving, the good memories with them are even more special. Some friends of hers were kind enough to let us all stay in their "bunk house" the night before. It was tough to sleep that night, not because our kids were wild (they wished we'd hush!) but because we thought it was a big slumber party. We did stupid human tricks, reminisced about the styles of the 80s, and just laughed till we wet our pants. I don't think anyone was surprised we missed waking up at the crack of dawn to pick berries. Going later was hotter, of course, but we had a berry good time (sorry, couldn't help it, won't happen again)! The kids had no problem splashing and dunking in their swimming hole, though you wouldn't catch me in there. We've already used more than a gallon of the 3 gallons of berries we picked: on cereal, in muffins, ice cream topping, pie filling, and just gobbling them up plain!

Joshie found a clean, dark one and said, "This one looks like a bomb!"

You could eat as many as you wanted while picking

Everyone cooled down while we paid for and bagged the berries (except the sword fighters)

Yummy! Looks like it was a lot of fun.
Fun! We got to pick blueberries when we lived in Tyler last summer. Nothing like fresh fruit, huh? :)
